Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
